Christmas 2008

December WOW what a month!!

It’s been a very busy and long month but very fun. First off, Katie and Braydon stayed for two weeks after Thanksgiving and we did a lot of stuff to get ready for Christmas. Lindsey came up and we all stayed up all night dipping chocolate and had a lot of fun. I worked the next morning and got off early than the girls and I went and did some shopping for the day. That night we met up with Katie’s mother & sister in-law and we went to see “Twilight” and had great dinner it was a really fun week end. We missed having Jessie with us that weekend, but she was painting her new house and getting it ready to move in.

On the 10th Katie and Braydon helped me take my Mom Christmas shopping and to lunch it was a wonderful. We went to like 4 stores I know it really wore her out but she had great time. We went to Cracker Barrel it had been a long time since she had been there, she loved it.

On the 12th I helped Katie drive back to Vegas and I stayed for the weekend and flew back on the 15th I love to fly……;o) This only gave me a week or so to get all my Christmas shopping done and help mom get all her things ready for Christmas it was crazy and then in the middle of it all I got a really bad cold and along with that the cough I ended up taken work off and not sleeping for days (have I mentioned I HATE WINTER AND SNOW).

This year’s Christmas was a little weird for us. Katie in Vegas and Jessie getting her new house and with the really bad weather it was hard for the kids to make it to Heber so on Christmas eve we went down to visit Grandma & pa Moore and Richard was in from California it was great to see him.

Christmas day Jim woke me and Em up at 6am he had to work at 8 so we got up and opened our gifts Emily got lots of clothes and an IPod touch can I just say she is spoiled …..lol Jim got clothes an electric shaver, shop vac, and watch I got clothes, meat slicer, watch and Jim and I got a GPS it is so cool I love it. OH ya and we got like 10 or more movies……lol. We had a good breakfast and then went to Lindsey’s to give them their gifts it was fun seeing Hannah open things. Then we went to mom’s when we got there Sue and all her family was there it was nice to see everyone it’s been a while since we have seen them. We all opened all of Grandma’s gifts she was very good to us all. She worked very hard to get cards made for all of girls and they were very nice. So we left and went to Jessie’s so they could open gifts Delaney and Nichols loved their stuff. It was a long day but very fun we headed back home and that’s when the big snow storm hit the canyon was really bad but we made it. We had a good dinner and watched one of our movies.

I know this was a long and boring posted ….lol but it’s over now and we are in Vegas with Katie and Shane so I’ll try and give you an update later on the New Year.

Thanksgiving Dinner with the Family 2008

This year for Thanksgiving the girls went to all of there in-laws. So Jim, Em, and I went to Aunt Jenines for are Turkey Dinner. We had a great time it was fun to see everyone.

So since we all went to our in-laws for the Holiday we decided to have our family Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday. This year was really great, I had my mom come up to enjoy the day with us. We enjoyed the Turkey and all the trimmings and ate till we couldn't eat anymore. There's nothing like a home cooked Thanksgiving meal. I am so Thankful that my mom and dad taught me how to make the traditional Thanksgiving dinner; and that she was able to come and joy it with us this year. We all had a great time chatting, and eating, and watching the kids have fun. I love this time of year with family it reminds me of all the great past times I had when I was growing up and when I first started my family. I feel very blessed that my girls want to have the same family values and family traditions.

It's funny how Christmas tree's change

This is the first tree Jim and I had when we got married and it was pretty normal for that time. There was really no theme I made everything that was on it.

Okay this is the tree we all say: WHAT WAS I THINKING??? .......LOL This was a real tree that we all went and picked out and Jim chopped it down. The kids call this our bloody tree with all the red. I think we only had this for one Christmas.

This is the new tree we had for our new house, it was a little bare but it was nice. We had it for about 8 years and we would add to it each year. It wasn't too bad! :)

And last but not least, this tree is the one we've had since we've been living here in Heber and I have to say this is the one I love the most it's about 11 feet tall and everything matches. The theme is country and snowmen. I would like to add some new things to it so Ive been keeping an eye out for some cute things that are inexpensive. Last weekend Lindsey & Brandon and some of thier friends got together to watch the BYU game, the girls weren't into the game so the ladies went to check out Tai Pan Trading in Salt Lake and can I just say oh my gosh I LOVE this place they had the cutest things ( a ton of Christmas stuff) and it was really inespensive.

Anyways, back to the tree thing I think it's funny how trees change. It's fun to see the pictures of past Chritsmas' and the way the styles and times have changed. I will always wonder what I was thinking when I look at the "bloody Christmas tree!"

I have a new toy......

I've been trying to go through all my pictures and get them organized and then I want to put them all on a CD. In order to do this I would need a scanner so I've been begging Jim for one and he's so good to me he went and got me one and set it all up and ready to go. ( but if you know Jim then you would know this was not done without a few not so good words.....lol) So yes I have been having so much fun with it and looking at all the old pictures of the girls and of all the Holiday fun we had with my mom & dad.

So with Thanksgiving just around the corner I thought it would been fun to share some pictures i found of my Dad and my grandma, Dad has been gone for awhile and grandma before him. My kids and I talk all the time about the fun we had when we would all get to gather to make great memories and I think it helped my girls want to make great traditions for our family now that they have their little families.

This was Thanksgiving 1991

Little Miss Izzy......

This is Izzy's new favorite place right in front of the fire every night...........

I'm just not sure I'm ready for this......;o(

OK, this is what we woke up to this morning....you know as long as I can remember I have really never been one that likes being cold or playing out in the cold. Even when I was a kid my mom and dad would bundle us kids all up and take us up in the mountains to sleigh ride or tubing I think most the time I would only go one time down the hill and then I would sit in the car trying to stay warm. I always seemed to have enjoyed the hot chocolate and the donuts though.......;o)

I think if you were to ask my girls they would say yep it was our dad that would take us all tubing and to play in the snow and mom was always there with the hot chocolate and the hot bread to warm us up after. Don't get me wrong, I love the snow for Christmas and I love sitting in the hot tub when its just coming down like last night. I think winter should be over on December 31 but I know that's just a dream one of many I have......lol

So on another note, Katie and her family are going to be coming to Utah for Thanksgiving this year. All the kids are actually going to their in-laws for Thanksgiving, so Jim and I are going to the Moore's. So we are having another Thanksgiving the following Sunday with all the kids and Brandon and Lindsey are driving up Mom so she can see everyone. So yes that means I will be cleaning yippy....lol

Katie & Braydon will be staying for like 2 weeks but Shane will be flying back home to work, so Katie and I have planed to do lots of fun things to do with her sisters and my mom it's going to be a crazy busy time but I think I'm up for it.......I'll take lots of pictures so I can share.

Until next time you all try and stay dry and warm.......;o)

Halloween at the Moore's

We had a really great time last night at the Moore's. Grandma Moore made some great chili and bread sticks and it was fun seeing everyone dressed up. It's always fun to see and get to hang out and chat with all of Jeanine & Brock's family they are just so fun. They always love it when Jim tells his stories about his fun times at the PD.

This weekend we are not doing much, Jim working and I get to sit around waiting for our winter coal to be delivered. I don't know about you, but I hate waiting for things to be delivered. They never tell you a time so you pretty much sit and waste the day away waiting. We got coal last year to help keep us nice and warm for the winter it was great and it helps with the heat bill too. ( just a reminder I HATE WINTER ) I ask Jim almost every week or so if we can move south and he just keeps saying no, but maybe one day he'll buy me a place to visit in the winter when he makes his millions ...hehehe! I'll be holding him to it.......;o) There are some good things about winter, like the holidays and doing lots of fun things with the kids. I really enjoy that part of winter. (but that's about it! lol)

Delaney & her new glasses

Our cute little Delaney found out like a week ago that she needs help seeing. Jessica said the school sent her home saying that she didn’t pass the eye test we was all very suspired because she never has said she can’t see.  I guess it goes to show you, you really need to have your kids eyes checked yearly. I think the glasses make her look so smart……..;o) I asked Jess if they have talked to her about when she’s at school that she can’t let anyone try them and she said oh yes, we have a new saying in our home . (If they're not on your face then they're in the case) …LOL I told Jess only she could come up with something like that.

One more thing……..Our really good friends here in Heber moved to Corpus Christi Texas this summer. Michelle sent me this picture of the gas price there can I just say we are getting RIPED OFF we are $3.05 up here.

I just have one quetion......

WHY IS ALL THE GOOD FOOD BAD FOR YOU........;o(

All my life my weight has been a struggle for as long as I can remember. I think I have tried every diet out there and more and it seems that once I do one and do good I think I can just go back to eating what ever I like. NOT!!!!!!

I can only be good so long and then I brake on Thursday night. It was the first time in a week Jim and I had really seen each other so he asked if I would like to go to Macaroni Grill for dinner and of course I could not say No....... I think that has to be our most favorite place. The bread and the shrimp pasta is to die for. So yes I'm going to feel guilty all weekend. oh but it was so good......;o)

Grandkids Are Great........

Jim And I went down to Payson on Thursday night to watch Nicholas play flag football it was great. He's a go getter and did really well. His team won the game. It was nice to see the kids it had been awhile with work and school, Jessie's little family stays really busy. It's hard to believe that Nicholas is going to be 9 in November....time flies.

We also wanted to see our little Miss Delaney. It was her 6th Birthday on the 11th and we weren't able to see her because they were down at Katie's that weekend. So we needed to get down there with the goods (presents) .......lol. She's loving school, she's in kindergarten and doing great. Delaney got an electric toy guitar from her parents and was rocking out with grandpa! She is a hoot!

Grandpa also got a new toy a couple of weeks ago and the grandkids got to ride in it!

Empty Nest ????

Boy if this is what it's like to have an empty nest, then I dont know if I like it.  I still have Emily at home but she's not home much, she has school and then works at night and if she's not doing that then she's with her friends. Don't get me wrong I love that she's doing really great in school and work and she's having a really great time with her friends it' just really quiet around here.

It's really bad when Jim goes to work at 4 and I'm just here by myself all night so Ive been going down to my mom's about one to two times a week, helping her with things and just hanging out. It has been nice to hang out with her and chat. Today I went down and gave her a manicure it was nice to do something that made her feel good. I really dont know how she spends so much time by herself and not be able to get out of the house when she wants to. I know she talks about how much she misses having everyone come by to visit. She just loves to look at everyone's blogs and likes seeing how all the grand kids and great grand kids are doing, but I know she would just love to see everyone in person.

I've also been hanging out with Lindsey and doing little crafty things. We seem to always start projects this time of year.  It's always fun to come up with new projects, especially since Christmas is just around the corner!

Well this should be very interesting.......;o)

So I guess I'm going to try this blogging thing.  So here it goes.

Just an update on all the goings on around here. I'm working at the local grocery store-- Days Market.  I do the receiving and the pricing of all the direct deliveries. So yes, I'm sorry I'm the one that is raising the prices. I really like my job and the people I work with. Jim is still working for Heber City and he also has a security company that is doing really well. I don't see him much but we hope it will pay off down the road.  It gets a little lonely at night but I have my Izzy to keep me company. Yes I didnt think I would be one of those people that has a pet that becomes the queen or king of the house.... well we have a queen. I dont know what I would do without her at night even though she just lays around and sleeps most of the time.

This weekend Jim & I both had the weekend off and had been planning to meet up with Lindsey & Brandon to paint my mothers (Grandma Winnie) shed but as you can all guess we didn't get it done--thanks to the weather. I just have to say I really HATE winter and you will be hearing me say that for the next 5 to 7 months. Since, we were unable to paint we did things around grandma's house that needed to be done for the winter. It was great!  Grandma really enjoyed having us there and getting to see baby Hannah. Lindsey also brought lunch--- Mexican Chicken Chili it was really good. It was fun sitting around the table and visting and chatting with Mom.

Even thought I hate winter I do love the hoildays I love spending time with my family and getting together and having a good time.

Well I don't wont to get to long winded in the first post, so stay tuned, I'm sure there will be more later.
